Airbnb Open Homes

Provide healthcare staff and first responders a place to stay

Current Situation:

COVID-19 has impacted those on the front lines of the response effort in many ways. Their jobs regularly require them to put themselves at risk to help those in need—and when that risk involves a virus, it can spill over and impact their housing needs as well.

What is Airbnb doing about this?

As part of its Open Homes program, Airbnb is offering free or subsidised housing to 100,000 first responders, healthcare professionals and more impacted by the COVID-19 response, so they have a safe, clean place to rest between shifts.

Airbnb has partnered with the International Rescue Committee, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and International Medical Corps, which will ensure the personnel accessing Open Homes accommodations are working on COVID-19-related projects.
